BEING A HAPPY TEENAGER

Andrew Matthews
Conclusion

First, you learn what it is like to be a typical teenager. Having thoughts about wanting to change your face and body is completely normal. Most teenagers believe in the same ideas. Some of them are you need to be smart to be successful, only pretty girls get the guy they want, and only good-looking guys get pretty girls. But if you want to live a different life, you can change your mindset and attitude. Second, the book gave you a deeper understanding of yourself. The most crucial aspect you need to know is liking yourself. To be likable, you need to think that you deserve to be liked. Here are some ways to like yourself more. Accepting yourself, welcoming compliments, being with positive people, and improving yourself daily. Third, you understood life from your parent’s perspective. Sometimes, they act crazy because they care about you. They only want what’s best for you, so they try to guide you in the best way they know. Teenagers and parents worry about different things, so it’s important to understand each other. Try to say “thank you” every once in a while to make your parents feel more appreciated.

Fourth, you learned about the importance of choosing the right friends. Your environment can affect your behavior. Surround yourself with people who have a good influence on you. Focus on yourself and don't force other people to like you. Forgive other people, not for them, but for your peace of mind. Fifth, the book helped you understand your school environment better. There will always be bullies in your life, no matter where you go. However, it is crucial to learn how to act around them. Show them calm and confidence. Ignore them and be the better person whenever they start fights. The school allows you to learn what you want in life. Maybe you discover that you hate math, but you excel in sports or arts. Sixth, the author taught you a new meaning of the word happiness. Happiness comes from focusing on the good things rather than the bad. Stop comparing yourself with other people and worrying about the future. Happiness starts from within. It is a daily choice you must make. Learn to be contented with what you have and be grateful for everything. Your happiness and success all come from you. Stop waiting for someone else to do it for you because no one will. Take matters into your own hands and be the person you want to be. Being successful does not happen overnight. Take it slowly and consistently work your way to the top. Each day you spend working towards your goal is another step in the right direction.
